The Business Baby Shower was a concept originally developed by Lucinda Cross of Corporate Mom DropOuts. During the infancy stage, Lucinda reached out to Traci Bisson, creator and founder of The Mom Entrepreneur, a company that offers tips, advice and resources for balancing motherhood and running a company. Together, they further developed the concept and have created a first-of-its-kind baby shower contest for mom entrepreneur businesses in all stages of growth.

ABOUT TRACI BISSON

Traci Bisson

Traci Bisson

Traci is the creator and founder of The Mom Entrepreneur and the president of Bisson Barcelona, LLC, a high visibility PR, image management and social marketing firm. The Mom Entrepreneur, established in April 2008, is a company that offers tips, advice and resources for balancing motherhood and running a company. The company manages a suite of blogs, including The Mom Entrepreneur, Kids in NH and Neighbors Helping Neighbors as well as an online support group for mom entrepreneurs.

Traci started The Mom Entrepreneur as more of a hobby. She began blogging about her challenges and successes. That same month, she sent a query out through two news channels looking for tips on balancing family and business in order to generate some additional content for her blog. Bisson anticipated she would connect with a few other mom entrepreneurs, interview them and post their stories on her blog. In less than 48 hours she had received 400 emails with more then 1,000 tips from mom entrepreneurs all over the world.

From that point, The Mom Entrepreneur started to grow. The company added The Mom Entrepreneur Online Support Group in June, which now has over 1,100 members who network with each other and offer support. The company also runs The Mom Entrepreneur Co-op Shop, which includes bargains on dozens of products and services as well as an educational teleseminar series covering a wide range of topics important to mom entrepreneurs.

Traci’s story has been told in dozens of publications, including the Associated Press, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB.com), Women’s Business Boston Journal, Plan Ahead Get Ahead (cover story), Union Leader, The Portsmouth Herald, Our Times and Seacoast Ventures.
